Please read complete instructions before replacing components. Instructions below are written for Polar Bear Water Distillers.

Tools Required: Red Robertson Screwdriver, 7/16” Deep-Well Socket, Small Adjustable (crescent) Wrench

Assembly Instructions are shown here for Polar Bear Water distillers, and are printed here as a guide only.

1. Ensure that the correct microswitch is included in your replacement kit. Switches for a 26C6, 26D-8, 26C-8, 42D10, 42D-25 100-L and 200-L should be about 1” long and marked either “V3L-6-D8”, “V-5113D” or AH15379”, Switches for  a 26-M, 26-E1, and 26-14 should be about 1 3/4” long and labeled “Unimax” Item #60024 1 Microswitch, Large

2. Turn main power switch on distiller off and unplug cord from wall plug.

3. Drain the boiling tank. CAUTION: DRAIN VALVE MAY BE VERY HOT. Wait at least 1 hour for boiling tank to cool.

4. Using the Robertson screwdriver, remove the Distiller front cover by removing the 4 screws.

5. Remove boiling tank lid and lift the float inside the boiler. Note the height of the float when the switch needing replacing is depressed.

6. Using a 7/16” deep-well socket, remove the nuts attaching the lexan switch plate to the boiling tank.

7. One wire at a time, disconnect the wires attached to the old micro-switch and connect them to the corresponding post on the new switch. Note the routing of these wires so that they will not interfere with the motion of the float rod or switch arm. Remove the old switch and replace with new switch. Do not fully tighten the kep nuts because the switch position requires adjustment.

8. Reinstall lexan switch plate on copper studs, again ensuring that wire routing does not interfere with float rod or switch arm motion.

9. Adjust switch position so that the switch is depressed at the noted float height. Tighten kep nuts and replace front cover. Ensure impurities drain valve is closed.

10. Leaving the lid off your boiling tank, plug in and turn on your distiller. Check the switch position in the following way: the heater should turn on when the water level is about 1” above the heating element, and the water should shut off when the tank is between 1/3 and 1/2 full. (26E1 and 26-M 3/4 full) If your switch is adjusted incorrectly, turn off and unplug your distiller. Remove the front cover and readjust switch position. Replace front cover and test again.

11. Replace the boiling tank lid.

The distiller should now operate properly. If it does not, confirm that the  wires are connected to the proper  location by referring to your electrical  schematic. If they appear correct, we suggest you take your distiller to an authorized service representative or phone 1-780-477-1328 for assistance.
