Saddle Valve Self Tapping 1/4″ Compression – Brass
The Saddle Valve ( is a self-piercing valve) clamps onto a pressurized water supply pipe. This connection allows for water connection for automatic distiller operation.

Automatic Water Feed Line – Copper pipe
This section installs the Saddle Valve (a self-piercing valve) onto a pressurized water supply pipe for automatic operation.
- Tighten Brass Reducer Nut with hose washer snugly onto Solenoid Valve at the back of Distiller Head. Wetting gasket inside Brass Reducer Nut with water will make assembly easier. Cut the water feed line square. Remove red Retaining Clip from Water Feed Connection.
- Push water Feed Line end into the distiller’s Water Feed. Connection as far as it will go. Reinsert retaining clip Connect other end of Water Feed Line onto saddle valve.
- Mount saddle valve to the cold water supply pipe. Be sure rubber gasket is centered underneath valve bracket.
- You may use the output line from a water softener in your home, if available – this may make cleaning and maintaining the Distiller easier. ** Use of the hot water supply from a hot water heater is not recommended, because there is little benefit since the Distiller draws very small quantities of water at a time, and sediment and scale may plug water supply line.
- Make sure the boiling tank drain valve is closed and Distiller is unplugged.
- Tighten saddle valve handle completely to pierce pipe (Copper pipe only).
- Open saddle valve 1 to 1-1/2 turns by turning handle counter-clockwise to allow water into distiller.
- Turn on water supply.
- Check for leaks.
Installing Saddle Valve on Steel or PVC Pipe
IMPORTANT: DO NOT use a hot water supply.
1. Shut off main water supply and drain pipe.
2. Drill a 5/32″ diameter hole in COLD water pipe. Use a hand drill to avoid shock hazard.
3. Turn handle to expose piercing lance 3/16″ beyond the sealing washer.
4. Assemble saddle valve on COLD water pipe so piercing lance fits into hole.
5. Tighten bolts evenly with saddle clamp brackets parallel.
DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.
6. Slide compression nut over end of 1/4″ tubing. Place white compression ring on tubing. Be sure wide end of ring is facing compression nut. Insert brass tube support into end of tubing. Insert tubing into valve and hold firmly in place while threading nut onto saddle valve. Tighten with a wrench.
7. Turn handle clockwise to close valve.
8. Open main water supply.
9. To open valve, turn handle counterclockwise as far as possible.
10. Check for leaks. Re tighten compression nut if necessary.
